A method of measuring self-inductances applicable to large electrical machines

The paper describes a method of determining the self-inductance of a circuit by direct measurements made at the circuit terminals. The method appears to be particularly useful where the circuit currents are larger than 10 amp, and the application of the method to the determination of the magnetic constants of a synchronous machine is presented.
