Libya Claims Cruise Ship

General National Maritime Transport Company of Libya has filed a case against STX France to recover recently-completed MSC Preziosa. GNMTC claims STX Europe wrongfully rescinded the $650-million contract during the Libyan revolution after the Gaddafi regime failed to make contractual payments. GNMTC wants the contract reinstated. The ship was delivered to MSC and christened at Genoa by actress Sophia Loren on March 24.
