I thought it would be a good idea to make your readers aware of another option for "Rebuilding Aging Feedwater Heaters On-Line" (March 2010). Sleeving HP feedwater heater tubes has been a practice used since the mid 1990's as an extension of the sleeves used in steam condensers that were developed 20 years earlier; a thin-walled metallic tube insert expanded into the existing damaged tubes. Successful installations have included units that were failing due to vibration, stress corrosion cracking and/or damaged at the desuperheating zone, requiring sleeves up to 14 feet long.
