"The former governor of the Central Bank Malta is examining the potential candi- dates now. An announcement is due next week," says Marin Hili, chairman of Malta Freeport, referring to the banks that have applied to the Maltese government for the position of advisor on the privatisation of Malta Freeport. Although Mr Hili is unwilling to men- tion the banks by name, he does say, "It is the normal list of seven or eight banks that have focused on the port sector."
