To most of America, the town of Janesville, Wisconsin may have little meaning. In fact, most folks might have an easier time picking out Yemen on a map than this relatively obscure burg. While this locale may be overlooked by the general population, it does hold a great deal of significance to car people, especially fans of the legendary '57 Chevy. To those devotees, Janesville is synonymous with their favorite icon of American culture, as it is home to one of the factories that produced these legendary machines. Clayton Moen happened to grow up in Janesville and during his teenage years he watched these gorgeous cars roll out of town by truck and train. In 1963, he began working on that very same production line and shortly after, he was able to pick up a used '57 for a mere $300. The car was put into service as a daily driver, but as Clayton's family swelled to include seven children, the Bel Air's usefulness diminished quickly. In spite of his growing family, Clayton managed to hold onto the '57, driving it to work and keeping it close to its birthplace.
