ASSESSMENT OF THE PRODUCTIVITY OF BROILER CHICKEN SUNDER AND THE HEAVY METAL DETOXICATION IN THE CONTEXT OF INDUSTRIAL POLLUTION

The aim of the study is to assess the meat productivity and the specific features of metabolism in the broiler chickens, raised in the industrial zone and fed with the diets, supplemented with the adsorbents (sugar beet pectin and ProSid TB 102) to provide the heavy metal detoxication. The experiments were conducted on the broiler chickens of the "Smena-7" crossing. Four groups of matched day-old chickens were formed. The heavy metal content in the samples of forage, blood, and meat was measured with the atomic absorption analysis. The joint supplementation of the rations, containing increased amounts of heavy metals, with ProSid TB 102 (2000 g/ton of forage) and sugar beet pectin (2% of the forage weight) had the most pronounced beneficial impact on the economic and biological parameters of the chickens. The highest survival rates and live weight gain in the birds of the 3~(rd) experimental group were caused by the joint supplementation with the chosen compounds. We observed positive effects of the examined substances on the morphological and biochemical parameters of blood. The birds of the 3~(rd) experimental group showed 2.92-fold decrease in the lead content, 1.89-fold decrease in the cadmium content, and 2.03-fold decrease in the zinc content in blood. We detected an improvement in the sanitary and hygienic parameters of the poultry meat, 3.1-fold decrease in the lead content, 2.0-fold decrease in the cadmium content, and 2.1-fold decrease in the zinc content. The levels of all studied elements in the meat of the chickens of this group did not exceed the maximum permissible concentrations (MPC).
