A memorial marking the honour of 10 soldiers from Fermanagh who were awarded the Victoria Cross during military campaigns from the Indian Mutiny to the First World War, has been unveiled beside Enniskillen Castle. The ceremony was attended by the Her Majestey's Lieutenant for Fermanagh, Viscount Brookeborough, First Minister, Arlene Foster; the MP for Fermanagh and South Tyrone, Tom Elliott as well as family representatives from several of the soldiers named on the memorial. The organiser of the memorial, Oliver Breen, a military historian from Enniskillen, said what impressed him most was the cross community response from the public to the event. The cost of establishing the memorial was paid entirely from public donations.
