I've read plenty of great tributes to Bob Mader, who died in his sleep at 65 last February after covering the PHCP industry since 1984. But the one that struck me the most was from a former colleague who reminded us that Bob was a man of few words, if only because he saved them all up to share on the page for his readers. I knew him for practically my entire working life. In that time, I only half-jokingly would refer to him as the Great Sphinx of the industry - a silent sentinel who knew everything and was always around. If you didn't know better, you might look over at Bob scribbling into the notepad he'd carry down by his belt buckle, and think he wasn't paying much attention to the matter at hand.
