Shikoku Electric applies to local governments for spent fuel storage approval

Shikoku Electric Power Co. said in a statement May 25 that it is seeking approval from the local governments of Ehime and Ikata for the construction of an interim dry storage facility for nuclear spent fuel at the Ikata nuclear plant, calling the storage facility a step toward moving that waste off the plant site.
