Most post-Fukushima actions complete or on track: NRC, NEI officials

Most of the actions required by NRC of USrnnuclear power plant licensees in response tornlessons learned from the Fukushima Irnaccident in Japan in 2011 have beenrncompleted or are on schedule for completion,rnaccording to agency and industry officials.rnIn March 2012, the commission issuedrnorders requiring US nuclear power plants tornupgrade strategies to mitigate severernaccidents by enhancing capability to providerncooling water and AC power during anrnextended station blackout, to install hardened containment vents at BWRs with Mark I and IIrncontainments and to install equipment tornmonitor spent fuel pools. The commissionrnalso asked licensees to conduct newrnevaluations of seismic and flooding hazardsrnat their plants.
