Finnish regulator approves Olkiluoto-2 restart

The Finnish Radiation and Nuclear Safety Authority, STUK, said in a statement Dec. 16 that it gave permission Dec. 15 for the restart of the 890-MW Olkiluoto-2 which automatically shut, or scrammed, Dec. 10. However, a full return to service for unit has been pushed back a day to Dec. 21, Finnish power company Teollisuuden Voima Oy, which owns and operates the reactor, said Dec. 17 in a message on the Nord Pool transparency website, the third such schedule revision last week.
