PJM spot power prices jumped Friday as an increase in demand is expected through the upcoming Memorial Day weekend. PJM West Hub day-ahead on-peak rose about $2.30 from Thursday’s Intercontinental Exchange settlement price of $19.05/MWh to trade around $21.35/MWh. AD Hub day-ahead on-peak soared $6.20 to around $25.00/MWh. The PJM West Hub day-ahead weekend package traded around $17.00/MWh.
