PG&E Corp. will ask a federal bankruptcy judge this week for a sixmonth extension of the so-called exclusivity period it has to draw up a reorganization plan and to gain its acceptance from creditors. PG&E, which filed for Chapter 11 protection on January 29, is facing the expiration of its initial exclusive filing period and exclusive solicitation period on May 29 and July 29, respectively. During the exclusive period, third parties are precluded from submitting rival restructuring plans to a bankrupt company’s creditors. A hearing is set for Wednesday, May 22.
