The server (10) has an extension time period generating unit generating an extension time period of an electronic bid, where the period is not known to users e.g. bidders, and is a function of pseudo-random data generated by a pseudo-random data generating unit. A control unit controls display of two information representing a remaining time in a known and predetermined time period and a maximum remaining time in the extension time period, respectively, on electronic terminals (20-22) e.g. personal digital assistant, of the users.
