Asian spot LNG prices trended up in May to $6/MMBtu May 25, the first time at this level since March 11. Buying interest in north Asia has been limited to a few Japanese utilities and Taiwan's CPC. Buyers have generally been pitching bids at around $5.70/MMBtu. Several sources said there was still no sign of interest from China or South Korea. South Korea's Kogas, which is thought to have inventory space for cargoes, has yet to show any firm interest.
