摘要

Having raised hopes of a deal to crown the St Petersburg International Economic Forum, ideas on what constitutes an acceptable price for Russian gas exports to China remain far apart. According to Valery Yazev, head of the Russian Gas Society, Moscow sees $350/1,000 cubic meters as a realistic price, while China is offering just $235/1,000 cu m. Yazev, who is also deputy chairman of the State Duma, said $350 was reasonable as "the European price is forecast to exceed $400/1,000 cu m in the near future, according to specialists' estimates."
