EU governments are resisting calls to fix the EU’s 2030 renewable energy target at 35%, but there is a “sense ofrnmovement” to go higher than 27%, EU climate action and energy commissioner Miguel Arias Canete said April 19.rnFalling costs mean the EU could now achieve a 30% renewables’ share of gross final energy demand by 2030 for the samerncost as that of the 27% target the European Commission originally calculated in 2014, Canete told reporters in Sofia after anrninformal meeting of EU energy ministers.
