Danish-owned Greentech-BG is close to completing permitting for two wind parks with a combined capacity of 175 MW that it is planning to develop in the Balkan Mountains in northwestern Bulgaria, the company's local representative Ivan Tsonev told Platts February 10. The two parks are to be located around 1,800 metres above sea level on the same ridge of the Balkan Mountains: a 100-MW, €150 million park at Dulgi Del in Georgi Damyanovo municipality and a 75-MW, €120 million park further east above the municipal centre of Chiprovtsi. Each is to be equipped with 2.5-MW Nordex N100 turbines - the most suitable for such high altitudes, according to Tsonev.
