The method involves connecting a ground surface (3) with carbonaceous mountains having slope or inclination by an inclined haul heading (1), where multiple freezing holes are drilled vertically from the ground surface above an inlet of the inclined haul heading in a water-guiding formation (6) or a tunnel in the water-guiding horizontal. The freezing holes are drilled upto the carbonaceous mountain or the non-water-guiding mountain to be provided with down pipes in the area of the water-guiding formation after completion of the freezing hole. An independent claim is included for a device for establishing and operating freezing holes.
