Force maieure again for Hidroelectrica

Hidroelectrica, Romania's state-owned hydropower producer, triggered August 7 a force majeure clause on all its supply contracts as a result of record low production brought on by drought. Company sources confirmed to Platts that the country's largest and cheapest power producer with an installed capacity of around 6,400 MW, activated force majeure with effect from 00.00 on August 7 after receiving approval from the Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
