Wabash Valley Power Association sees need for 450 MW of peaking, baseload, intermediate

In less than a decade, Wabash Valley Power Association expects to need an additional 450 MW of peaking and baseload/intermediate resources, with that total more than doubling by 2018. The need is not immediate, however, the Indianapolis-based generation and transmission co-op said in its latest integrated resource plan filed with the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission. Wabash's projected power supply requirement actually drops from 2008 to 2009 because of the conclusion of a one-year firm power sales agreement before increasing again in 2010.
