PacifiCorp seeks 2,000 MW of peaking, baseload, intermediate sources from 2012

PacifiCorp has issued a request for proposals for 2,000 MW of summer peaking, baseload and intermediate load resources that are needed from 2012 to 2016 in the six Western states it serves. The Portland, Oregon-based utility said it planned to submit a bid for a plant it would build that would compete with other proposals. All bids will be reviewed by an independent evaluator. Minimum bids should be for 100 MW or greater with a minimum term of five years.
