Maryland auction of 1,643 MW by IOUs attracts 'robust' number of qualified bidders

Sixteen companies qualified to bid at the January 14 auction of 1,643 MW by Maryland investor-owned utilities, a vast improvement over last year when the state had only three suppliers, Walter Drabinski, president of Vantage Consulting, said last week on behalf of the Public Service Commission.
