San Antonio Muni Urged To Delay Decision On Nrg-led Nuclear Station Expansion

Staff of CPS Energy, San Antonio's municipal utility, urged the muni's board of trustees and the San Antonio city council to put off a decision on joining the NRG Energy-led expansion of the South Texas nuclear station in Matagorda County until next fall. Staff said the delay would allow more time to evaluate the uncertainly of the financial markets, the priorities of the incoming Obama administration, federal incentives for energy development and congressional action on carbon legislation.
