Luminescence properties of annealed PbWO_4 single crystals

摘要

Glow peaks of PbWO_4 below 110 K are intense and may arise from unspecified intrinsic defects whereas those above 154 K may be related to oxygen sites. TL emission spectra of as-grown PWO are considered to arise from the WO_3 associated with oxygen vacancies and those of annealed PWO may be from the WO_4~(2-) complex interacting with O~(2-) owing to oxygen diffusion during annealing. The correlation between annealing and luminescence confirms that the structural defects are greatly influenced by the post-growth annealing and the luminescence properties are sensitively affected by the structural defects in crystals.
