Synthesis and Properties of Hydrido(selenolato)platinum(II) Complexes Bearing Chelating Phosphine Ligands

The reactions of an overcrowded selenol, TripSeH (1, Trip = 9-triptycyl) with [PtCl₂L] (L = dppe, dppf), in the presence of NaBH₄ afforded the corresponding hydrido(selenolato) platinum(II) complexes [PtH(SeTrip)(L)] [2 (L = dppe), 3 (L = dppf)]. Complexes 2 and 3 were fully characterized by NMR and IR spectroscopies, and their molecular structures were determined by X-ray crystallography.
