Johnson Controls Systems and Services SA has been awarded a multi-million rand contract to supply, deliver, install and commission a complete refrigeration plant for Heineken SA's first brewery in SA. The brewery is currently being built on the R59 between Alberton and Vereeniging in Gauteng.rnThe contract, signed in July 2008 following a rigorous tender process, was awarded to Johnson Controls as the organisation offers entrenched global and local experience, as well as the ability to deliver class-leading refrigeration equipment that will form an integral part of the brewery's refrigeration processes.rn"The enquiry was initially received by our office in The Netherlands. Once Heineken informed us of its intention to build a brewery in SA, we didn't hesitate to meet with them at their offices in Zouterwoude, The Netherlands, to confirm our credentials and intentions to assist locally as best we could,' comments Ian Farrell, Johnson Controls Systems & Service key accounts manager.
