A study of the relationship between work values and creativities across generations

摘要

Innovation is of primary importance in an organization's ability to survive amidst of rapidly changing scenarios. Organizations must motivate individual employees be in an innovation-driven environment to use ones on creativity. Personal creativity of employees at all levels is a key factor to organizational innovations. Creativity must be kindled to generate new thinking and knowledge which facilitate innovation. If creative and innovative employees are well recognized by the firm, the organization can be more innovative. While Taiwan's economy develops very fast, the gap between generations also widened, especially in the working environment. It is found that, younger generation employees are innovative and can contribute to company's creativity more than the contribution of older generation employees. Though creativity is a personal trait, environment seems to be playing a decisive role in influencing creativity. This study focuses on the relationship between work values and creativity and influences of generations on work values. (49 refs.)
