Sighting Cites and Citing Sites

A few decades ago, suggested citation formats were rare in books or periodi-cal articles found online. Now they abound, with suggested cites expanding into ever more styles. Citation tools have grown in interesting ways, partly because publishing companies are buying citation management software companies. In general, citations in various formats have never been so easy to find and create. Yet at the same time, much confusion remains, since the various citation generators produce a wide range of variations when trying to reference the same document in a specific style.
