Regulators poles apart on temperature compensation issue

There are four regions in the U.S. with their own Weights and Measures regulators and each has now adopted a different position on automatic temperature compensation at retail.rnThe latest W& M group to vote on the issue represents southern states. At a meeting in Little Rock, Ark., it recommended ATC be mandatory, but only for retail dispensers that deliver 30 gallons a minute - in other words, truck stops and retail tank trucks. The requirement would become mandatory 10 years after being adopted by the National Conference on Weights and Measures.
