A small group of marketers in Wisconsin, South Dakota and Minnesota are experimenting with blender pumps, offering consumers a choice of several ethanol blends, according to ethanol industry sources.rn"The pump itself would take fuel from the tanks to create any blend level that you programmed it for," according to Monte Shaw of the Iowa Renewable Fuels Assn. "You might be able to have a regular gasoline, an E-10, an E-20, an E-50 and an E-85. So, you could offer many more products to your consumer with the same two tanks that are already in the ground today," he said in an Iowa radio interview.rnCurrently, only flexible fuel vehicles are legally allowed to use ethanol blends above E-10. Shaw says researchers in Minnesota have been testing E-20 in regular vehicles, with positive results. That data could be delivered to EPA soon - along with a recommendation to allow E-20 blended fuel for all vehicles, he said.
