Shell set to sell NW sites to Rockies jobber

Shell is planning to sell its 80-plus stores in the Portland, Ore., market to a jobber as part of a joint venture pact expected to close in mid-February, Oil Express learns. Shell's 50-50 partner in the deal is four-state marketer Jackson Oil, Inc., a Meridian, Idaho-based distributor and one of the 20 largest wholesalers in the U.S. The stores move more than 120 million gals/yr, sources say. Multiple site operators (MSOs) run about 60 of the units, while open dealers and lessees operate the other 20 sites. Shell declined comment on the planned JV.
