Shell is finalizing a deal to sell all its New York stations to local marketer Sammy Mussa, Oil Express learns. The transaction will involve about 150 sites moving around 200 million gals/yr that are currently supplied by Motiva, Shell's East Coast marketing arm. The units are a mix of lessee and open dealer locations and MSOs and are located in the city and on Long Island, sources say. Mussa also is expected to sign a long-term supply contract, to run 20 years or so. Mussa is the man behind Fuelco Group, a Briarcliff Manor, N.Y., firm that comprises Wholesale Fuel Distributors Inc. and Courtesy Gas Stations Group. Just this spring, he acquired 22 Shell sites in Fairfield County, Conn., as reported (OE 04/07/08).
