Most marketers are by now familiar with the little black box that thieves can install in dispensers to capture credit and debit card data, PIN and zip code information as customers fill up. After putting it into the pump, the crook will later swing by the station to retrieve the device and the sales information recorded on it. However, the latest version of the device does not need to be removed - instead, the thief can just download the data onto a laptop while he sits in his car at the island. The device shown here was discovered at a Valero station recently. Fortunately, the thief had installed it badly.
