Trends: NOAA forecasts mild winter for most regions

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s(NOAA) Climate Prediction Center said recently that no partof the U.S. is expected to have below-average temperaturesfor this coming winter season from December to February.“A mild winter could be in store for much of the UnitedStates this winter,” according to NOAA.But the agency said that the Southeast, Tennessee Valley,Ohio Valley and Mid-Atlantic regions all have equal chancesfor below-, near- or above-average temperatures.
