Flexible ASV finds new role in salvage project

As offshore projects move into more harsh and complex environments, accommodation service vessels (ASVs) have emerged as flexible solutions for housing the increasing number of people who are required to live offshore and work on these projects. Offshore accommodation provider Ferguson Group is one of a number of companies that has been investing in the market, and recently demonstrated exactly how flexible an ASV can be when the group's vessel, ASV Pioneer, was deployed on projects in the offshore oil and gas/offshore renewablcs industries and on a contract supporting the salvage mission for the cruise ship Costa Concordia, after it ran aground off the Italian coast. Ferguson Group, established in 1976, is a leading supplier of DNV 2.7-1/EN12079 containers, refrigerated containers, accommodation modules and engineering modules to the offshore energy industry.
