Trinidad an attractive prospect

A number of OSVs have made the move to Trinidad over the past few months, benefiting from an increase in drilling. Exploration and development drilling is the major driver of support vessel activity there with four rigs currently drilling offshore the Caribbean island, compared to just one rig in August 2010. EOG Resources is drilling with platform rig H&P 203 at the Toucan field, with activity scheduled to continue until the end of the year. EOG Resources has several GulfMark Offshore vessels under contract, including 2,346 dwt PSVs Bienville and Bourbon, which came to Trinidad from the US Gulf of Mexico last year. Sister vessel Orleans arrived in Trinidad to work for EOG in May 2011.
