In a perfect world, under ideal conditions, all cabling, electrical and optical interfaces would be hard wired. Free of signal losses, voltage drops, mechanical coupling snafus, and interface failures...large vessels, the size of islands, would safely deploy the hard interconnected modules of colossal complexity on to a strictly defined geographical field all at once, with grace, in one swift operational deployment step. Inherent reliability built into these mammoth systems would ensure flawless operation for the twenty or so year life of the system, with no such need for additional Subsea intervention for upgrades or maintenance...in a perfect world.
