There is almost universal agreement that effective involvement of workers, together with senior management leadership and access to professional advice, are three really essential ingredients for the successful management of work-related risk. After all:rn1 you can only do health and safety with people not to them;rn2 workforce involvement in safety and health (what we term WISH) is a key part of workplace citizenship;rn3 WISH gives managers access to workforce knowledge and helps secure employee buy-in, including to difficult decisions; andrn4 WISH is essential to building a strong H&S culture.
