Perhaps readers could be forgiven if the title Health, emotion and the body conjured up visions of New Age, neo-hippie, crystal-dangling eccentrics, talking darkly about primal screams. Nothing could be further from the truth. This is a serious and learned book written by a serious author, describing how, and analysing why, the Western scientific method of delivering healthcare (which could be very roughly described as separating physical from emotional distress) is now shifting torna more holistic, integrated approach to the patient.
