GPs with OH training are prepared to embrace changes in the sickness absence certification system to help reduce their patients' absence, research published in the British Journal of General Practice reveals. The qualitative study was carried out at the Centre for Occupational and Environmental Health at Manchester University and is based on semi-structured telephone interviews with 30 GPs.The GPs had all been trained in occupational health to diploma level and all contributed to the THOR-GP section of the Health and Occupation Reporting network (THOR).
