On 24 April 2013,the Rana Plaza -an eight-story garment factory building in Dhaka, Bangladesh -collapsed, leaving over 1,100 people dead, and more than 2,000 injured. It is the worst industrial disaster in Bangladesh's history. Campaigners for improved working conditions in the garment industry are calling for better regulation and are urging retailers to sign a new agreement on fire and building safety.
