The UK Nuclear Decommissioning Authority plans to spend GBP8.44 billion (US$12.45 billion) over the next three years on decommissioning, cleanup and waste management at the UK's civilian nuclear sites, including Sellafield, the organization said this month.rnThe NDA 2009-12 business plan was released April 1, the start of the 2009-10 fiscal year. The plan outlines the key work the NDA seeks to accomplish this fiscal year for a budget of GBP2.8 billion and indicates the direction of activities over the next two years, NDA said in a statement on its business plan.rnOf the GBP2.8 billion budget for fiscal 2009-10, GBP1.6 billion will be from direct government subsidy and GBP1.15 billion will come from commercial operations, NDA said. Income from commercial operations includes the sale of electricity from NDA's four remaining operating magnox reactors at Wylfa and Oldbury.
