NRC takes action in response to improved work environment at TVA’s Watts Bar

NRC closed Feb. 17 a so-called chilling effect letter that focused on workers raising safety concerns at the Tennessee Valley Authority’s Watts Bar Nuclear Plant. According to NRC, a chilling effect letter as “a regulatory tool that the agency uses to ensure that licensees and other entities subject to NRC authority are taking appropriate actions to foster a workplace environment that encourages employees to raise safety concerns and to feel free to do so without fear of retaliation.”
