NRC Seeks Public Comments on Commercial Reactor Safety Processes

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission is seeking comments from the public, licensees and other interested groups on implementing the "Reactor Oversight Process" - the agency's program to inspect, measure and assess the safety of commercial nuclear power plants and to respond to any problems.rnIn particular, NRC is calling for the public to address 20 questions that include:rn1. Does the inspection program adequately cover areas important to safety and/or security?rn2. Does the "performance indicator program" provide useful insights, particularly when combined with the inspection program, to help ensure plant safety and/or security?
