It was reported in July that a donated brain from someone who died three years ago has been subjected to the longest magnetic resonance imaging scan ever. The 100-hour scan, conducted by researchers at Massachusetts General Hospital, is said to have produced the most detailed image ever of a human brain, in all three dimensions.
