Poland Plans to Build First Nuclear Power Plant by 2033

Poland is working on plans to beginbuilding the nation's first nuclear powerplant by 2033, according to EnergyMinister Krzysztof Tchórzewski."Locations in the northwestern seasideregion of Poland have been chosen.The communities there have beenpreparing for the construction, theyvisited nuclear power plants [abroad],thus, in a manner of speaking, wehave received social consent to startbuilding,” Tchórzewski told Polish PublicTelevision on May 15. The preparatorywork is being conducted by the newlyestablished company PGE EJ 1,a subsidiary of state-owned energygroup Polska Grupa Energetyczna.
