Vandellos joins the dual purpose trend in simulator use: training and analysis

In 1996, the operator of the Vandellos Ⅱ NPP decided to replace the original plant process computer (PPC). At the same time, a project was launched to develop a full scope simulator as a dual purpose system: to train staff and to test engineering characteristics, particularly future I&C upgrades. To provide a full capability, the simulator was to have the identical functional capabilities as the new PPC. The simulator is now operational and has been set up in the Vandellos training department.
