Past, present and future New nuclear interest

At the recent European Council summit, premiers of the 27 European Union (EU) member states gave tacit acknowledgment of the advantages of nuclear power. Standard & Poor's believes that such recognition should boost nuclear generation across the continent. Ultimately, we expect that a new generation of nuclear power plants will be built in the UK, and that Finland and France will continue to increase their appetite for new build nuclear plants. Indeed, the newer EU member states and the Baltics may even establish plans for nuclear plants to be built.
