The Nuclear Industry's Skills Challenge

It is clear that the nuclear industry has provided a consistently high level of workforce development to satisfy its own needs for suitably skilled, qualified and experienced personnel and to meet the demands of the nuclear regulator. What has been lacking is a consistent approach to skills and training - for instance there is no commonality of job titles or descriptions between employers, there are very few nuclear occupational standards or qualifications and each site licensed company tends to specify and provide its own training.
